DGM HQ.
The Vicar joined David Singleton & I for a meeting with David Enthoven & Tim Clark of ie Management this morning at 11.00.
David E is the E of EG, ousted by SG Alder Esq. from EG Management in 1977, the cuckoo then taking over the nest and cracking a few eggs along the way. But Cuckoo Sammy managed to disassemble the nest as well as removing the fledglings. Meanwhile, David E & Tim C triumphantly re-established the spirit of EG Management in ie Management. Currently they manage Robbie Williams, among others. The Cuckoo flew the EG nest (more properly, he stayed where he was and the nest fell apart around him) and is now a media entrepreneur on his home base, the Isle of Man, while continuing to do good works with Silver Clef in England. David was always properly a manager, Cuckoo Sammy was not: he had little feel for artists, often disparaging their temperament while exploiting it to his own best interest.
A most enjoyable visit, celebrating the past and addressing the future.
David & I then visited former KC manager, Richard Chadwick, at the Opium office in Holland Park where former DGM manager Adrian Molloy is now also working. Opium continues to manage David Sylvian, Bill Nelson & John Paul Jones.
And afterwards here to DGM HQ. We have decided DGM HQ will continue in its present location, but more firmly established as a creative centre. All part of the re-organisation & re-focusing of DGM to loosen the choking burden of stuff.
